(Thurs-Sun) Four-day juried and invitational festival of independent motion pictures by African-American filmmakers, as well as films on subjects of black life, urban culture and African-American history, will showcase features, shorts and documentary films.

Candlelight: Tribute to Queen

(Fri) Enjoy a live string quartet play the best of Queen amongst thousands of candles

Riverfront Farmers’ Market

(Sat) Nice weather is here and so is the first Riverfront Farmers’ Market of the year. This market features locally grown produce artisans goods

4/4 - 10/18 - Sunset Live Music Series: Marina District will be hosting free concerts Fridays & Saturdays

4/10 - 13: NC Black Film Festival: The four-day juried and invitational festival of independent motion pictures by African-American filmmakers, as well as films on subjects of black life, urban culture and African-American history, will showcase features, shorts and documentary films. Trophies will be awarded in each category.

5/2 - 7/25 - Free Concert Friday: Eagles Dare will host your favorite acts followed by a DJ every Friday night

5/3 - 35th Annual River to Sea Bike Ride: This event is a 20-mile bike ride along the historic route of the Wilmington Beach Car Line. There is no cost to participate.

5/3 - Ocean Fest Music Festival: Enjoy live music, food, and drinks along the water at Surf City’s annual festival

6/7 - Carolina Beach Music Festival: Enjoy the longest- running beach music festival in the US that is still held on the beach AND they’ve added an additional day this year for Reggae

Tidbit of the Week: Britt’s Donuts is back (and it was absolutely worth waiting in this line for)

Britts is the oldest standing business in Carolina Beach and has been a local / tourist favorite for 85 years

Their simple, melt-in-your-mouth donuts have earned them recognition in major publications like National Geographic (“101 reasons to travel for food and drink”), Food & Wine, Our State Magazine, and Saveur.
